Åhus Piano Festival “By the Sea”, 24–28 June 2026

The festival takes place in the last week of June in the historic medieval town of Åhus, Österlen in southern Sweden, where nature, history, architecture, design, and music fuse together to define both the place and the listening experience. The festival will feature four days of masterclasses and evening concerts, concluding with a final concert at Trinity Church in Kristianstad. We invite advanced piano students of all nationalities, aged 6 to 12 and 12 to 40, to apply.

Festival Contents – Short Description

Masterclasses and concerts:

  • All participants receive four individual 50min public masterclasses and perform at concerts.

  • Certificate of attendance will be presented to all participants at the final concert at Trinity Church in Kristianstad.

  • Festival participants will have access to practice facilities.

Application process

  • Application deadline is 1st of May 2026 and must be send to : contact@malmo-ypc.com

  • No later than 1st of May 2026, the course fee of 2 000 SEK for age group 6 to 11 and 3 600 SEK for age group 12-40 must be paid to the following bank account : 568 805 038 (Handelsbanken)

  • After received payment the participants will be notified of the outcome of their application.

  • In the event of a necessary cancellation, the fee will be refunded minus a 500 SEK administrative charge.

  • Please provide to contact@malmo-ypc.com:

    1. Participants age 6 to 12 and 12 to 18 : name, age , years of experience, repertoire for the course, parent’s name, address, phone number, email, present teacher.

    2. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the full duration of the festival.

    3. Participants age 18 to 40 : name, age , address, phone number, email, repertoire for the course, years of experience, present teacher.

    4. For all participants, please provide a short biography and video link of yourself playing 5-10 minutes standard repertoire.

Arrival and registration

Registration will take place at Aoseum on June 24 from 14:00 to 17:00

Meeting place during the festival

Aoseum will serve as a dedicated central meeting point where participants can ask questions, receive guidance, and coordinate with one another throughout the festival.

Non-active participants information

The masterclasses are open to non-active participants for listening, at a cost of 200 SEK per day.
